One of the key benefits of the AR-15 platform is the ability to change calibers by simply swapping a complete upper assembly or by replacing the individual components—the bolt, barrel, and upper or lower receiver. The Matrix Arms 16” 5.56 NATO Barrel ensures maximum velocity for your bullets while also keeping things lightweight and simple, following most Mil-Specs and Mil-Stds to ensure it fits with most Upper Receivers.
The Right Barrel for Any Job
Our Matrix Arms 16” 5.56 NATO Barrel is machined using Mil-Spec 4150 Chrome Moly Steel, which is a high carbon content steel, making it resilient to heavy use and extreme heat situations. Coated with a manganese Phosphate (parkerized) finish for maximum durability, our innovative, lightweight design makes this AR-15 Barrel among one of the lightest available on the market, weighing in at only 1.39 lbs.
Twist rate is a measurement that refers to the rate of spin in the rifle barrel and is calculated by measuring inches per turn. It’s important that whatever barrel you choose for your AR-15 has an adequate twist rate to stabilize the type of bullets that you’re going to be shooting. The 16″ 5.56 NATO Barrel measures a 1 in 8” twist rate and a ½”-28 muzzle thread pattern, which is the standard muzzle thread pattern used in AR-15 Barrels. Utilizing your standard carbine length gas system with our barrels and M4 feed ramp keeps things simple and will help ensure compatibility!
